"ABAD" beneficiary: Rana Gurbanova | Region: Baku | Artistic dolls
Rana Gurbanova was born in the Balakan
district. She has been engaged in handicrafts for more than five years. Her
interest in art began in childhood. Closely observing the handmade works
created by her parents was a great pleasure for her, and it was during those
years that a deep interest in creativity, especially in toys, was formed. Rana Gurbanova recalls this period as follows:
“Watching
my parents while they were working was a great pleasure for me. It was from
those times that my love for toys began.”
Over time, this
interest became stronger. In the dolls she creates, Rana Gurbanova gives
preference to national ornaments and seeks to preserve the delicate and
valuable details of cultural heritage in each of her handmade works. The
interest shown by people around her in her creativity has enabled her to move
forward on this path with greater confidence.
In the early years of her activity, Rana Gurbanova
presented her products through social media platforms. With the desire to
introduce her art to a wider audience, she became a member of “ABAD.” Today,
her dolls reflecting a national spirit are available at “ABAD” ethno-boutiques.
