ABAD
public legal entity successfully carried out its activities within 2021. To
begin with, it is worth mentioning that the number of ABAD members who received
support from the organization exceeded 500.
In
2021, another third ABAD factory was launched in Guba and focused on the
production of packaging materials.
The
number of overall centres also increased in the corresponding year. Thus, with
the support of PASHA Holding, 12 new ABAD stands were inaugurated, which in
turn totalled their overall number to 28. There is also an increase in the
range of markets where the stands are located. Thus, along with the Bravo
markets chain, ABAD stands already operate in Grandmart, Bolmart, Rahat, and
Bizim Markets.
The
range of products in the field of food production has also been increased
including 7 types of Fitolife herbal teas that are manufactured at Guba ABAD
Factory for Processing and drying of plants, various marinades, condiments and
sauces under the “Narli” brand name, new types of spices, lavangis, drinks,
oils, and cheeses.
Also,
viable steps have been taken in 2021 to export ABAD food products and ABAD
products successfully made their way to Japan and Kazakhstan.
The
handicrafts of ABAD members are not available only at 10 ABAD Ethno-boutiques,
but also at Kontakt Home now, which is the largest retail chain in Azerbaijan,
specializing in the sales of electronics, home appliances, furniture, textiles,
and other household items.
Sheki
and Nardaran Ceramics and Applied Arts centres also successfully continued
their activities. During the last year, the special edition of a collection
dedicated to the "YASHAT" fund was created in these centres. Part of
the proceeds from the sales of this collection is donated to the YASHAT
Foundation. Cooperation with the Foundation has also been established in
several other areas. Supporting the family members of martyrs in becoming ABAD
members is one of these areas.
ABAD
also marked the successful completion of the “Support to the Development of
Small Family Businesses in the Sheki-Zaqatala Economic Zone through the ABAD
Regional Centre in Balakan” project is funded by the EU and co-funded and
implemented by UNDP and ABAD under the State Agency for Public Service and
Social Innovations. Since the project was launched in 2017, support was
provided for 44 rural families including 12 IDP’s to start-up or expand their
local businesses. These families were provided with essential training and the
resources they needed to get their family businesses off the ground.
During
the year, the interest in ABAD from many foreign countries has increased. The
representative companies both from the public and private sector from
Uzbekistan, Israel, Argentina, Tajikistan, Russia, and others showed enthusiasm
to build cooperation with ABAD.
The
next stages of ABAD's projects with AQTA also kicked off. For example, two
catering facilities have been launched as part of the project titled “Creating a favourable and healthy business
environment for food businesses in the country”.
The
year 2021 was also marked for ABAD with its participation in many exhibitions
and fairs especially those dedicated to Victory Day.
