
ABAD
(Facilitated Support to Family Businesses) public legal entity run by the State
Agency for Public Service and Social Innovations under the President of the
Republic of Azerbaijan was established following the Presidential Decree dated
September 23, 2016.
Within the
course of the past period, ABAD implemented its activities through its
headquarters and 6 regional centres, 12 ethno-boutiques, 2 ceramics and applied
art centres, 31 ABAD in-store booths and stands organized in various market
chains, 22 production containers, 3 ABAD Factories, and 2 ABAD Schools.
As a pilot
project, ABAD was launched in Masally district with 7 family households and has
rendered its support services to 534 families so far. 419 of them are engaged
in handcrafting, 102 are in food production, and 13 are in other areas. As a
result of the commercial activities carried out with ABAD members, thousands of
handicraft, agricultural, and other different types of products were offered
for sale.
Over the years,
ABAD became an alternative tool for the implementation of corporate social
initiatives for large companies and donor organizations. ABAD has sold 7.3
million manats worth of products of ABAD producers through the grants they
received.
In time to
come, close cooperation with hotels operating in the country, as well as
increasing the number of support lines and ABAD producers are envisaged.
