Leyla Aliyeva, Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and founder and head of the IDEA Public Union, and Arzu Aliyeva have familiarized themselves with the “ABAD” Ceramics and Applied Arts Center operating within the territory of the “Yukhari Bash” National Historical-Architectural Reserve in Sheki.
It was reported that the main purpose of establishing the Center is to preserve Azerbaijan’s ancient ceramic heritage, especially that of the Sheki region, to pass these artistic traditions on to future generations, and to contribute to the promotion of our country’s cultural heritage as an integral part at the international level.
It was noted that favorable production conditions have been created at the Center for local artisans, and support is provided for the development of their creative activities and for bringing their products to market.
Later, Leyla Aliyeva and Arzu Aliyeva closely familiarized themselves with the activities of ABAD ceramic artists and took part together with the artisans in the process of producing ceramic products. It was brought to attention that, in the creation of various ceramic samples by the artisans, inspiration was drawn from Leyla Aliyeva’s artworks.
Leyla Aliyeva thanked the ceramic artists for the attention shown to her works, highly appreciated their activities in the direction of preserving and developing national artistic traditions, and wished them new creative successes.
At the end, commemorative photographs were taken with the Center’s staff and artisans.
