"ABAD" beneficiary: Mahammad Khurtunov | Region: Balakan | Wood carving
Mahammad Khurtunov, a resident of Qullar village in Balakan district, is a skilled wood carving artisan who learned the craft from his grandfather. Since the age of 22, Mahammad has been professionally engaged in wood carving, creating a variety of items including candlesticks, figurines, and furniture accessories.
Previously, Mahammad sold his handcrafted works within his limited means, but a small market hindered the growth of his business. By joining ABAD, he has not only overcome sales challenges but also received design support from ABAD to create souvenirs that attract significant interest from tourists.
Mahammad Khurtunov’s handcrafted works are now showcased and available for purchase at ABAD craftsmanship centers.
