Yelfira Safarova is one of the weavers receiving the support of ABAD. Turning the slogan "a new woven item per day" a part of her lifestyle from the age of 12, she learnt how to make loops from her mother, Yelfira remarks:

"My mother was ambitious in this field and learning this craft through the years from her, I improved my skills to the professional level. However, I never thought about making a profit out of it. I was weaving items to gift people around me, as well as for my loved ones. In other words, starting up a small business never popped into my head.”

Eventually, Yelfira ends up as an ABAD artisan. Thanks to her son-in-law for having a considerable role in this path leading to ABAD :

"My son-in-law registered on my behalf out of my knowledge. Thus, a while after the team invited me to the interview. Their office was nearby to my house and I went there just out of curiosity. The rich beauty and abundance around nurtured my soul. So I decided to try myself as an ABAD artisan."

It has been over a year that Yelfira's handicrafts are sold at the ABAD ethno-boutiques. The woven cartoon characters are the most welcomed ones between her handicrafts. Attending in many exhibitions, Yelfira is already known for the time being and she also accepts orders.

"My favourite hobby brought me income during my retirement which was a bolt from the blue. I love weaving and yarn, tapestry needle, crochet are what makes me happy. I am thankful to ABAD for helping me to become an entrepreneur through my hobby."
