"ABAD" beneficiary: Ruslan Huseynov | Region: Baku | Decorative-applied art
Ruslan Huseynov

One of the main objectives of the “ABAD” social project is to support young artisans and highlight their successful activities. Ruslan Huseynov, a resident of Baku, pursued education in decorative-applied folk artistry after completing secondary school. Showing great interest in collecting ancient examples of the types of craftsmanship he studied, Ruslan regularly travels to various regions of Azerbaijan.

During these trips, his goal is to explore the historical settlements of our regions and, primarily, to incorporate ancient examples of applied folk artistry, still preserved in households, into his personal collection.

Thus, he manages to collect art pieces such as various carpets, takalduz, and gulabatin. Currently, his collection includes over 3,500 exhibits.

His primary aim is to create souvenirs and decorative items that reflect our culture authentically, without any distortion, based on such genuine examples.

Aiming to establish his own brand and advance in this field, Ruslan’s main challenge has been related to expanding the sales market.

Before joining “ABAD,” Ruslan attempted to sell his handmade works through various means, and he believes that this social project will bring him significant success.

The sale of the artisan’s exquisite handmade works is carried out at “ABAD” craftsmanship centers.
