"ABAD" beneficiary: Saleh Mammadov | Region: Ganja | Pottery and ceramics
The production of
porcelain ware constitutes an integral part of the world’s cultural heritage.
Originating in China, this form of craftsmanship later spread to other Eastern
countries, including Azerbaijan. It is heartening that, even today, artisans in
Azerbaijan continue to uphold these historical traditions through the creation
of porcelain ware.
One such artisan is
Master Saleh Mammadov from Ganja. In his private workshop, he skillfully crafts
exquisite vessels using red clay and ceramic materials, adorning them with
intricate patterns.
Trained in the field
of “Artistic Ceramics and Glass,” Master Saleh notes:
“My father was a
painter who spent much of his life in Yerevan. Being born into an artistic
family significantly influenced my development as an artisan.”
To promote his
handcrafted works and artistic creations to a wider audience and facilitate
their sale, Saleh Mammadov sought support from the “ABAD” initiative.
Today, with the
assistance of “ABAD” in organizing the sale of his products, he is able to
dedicate more time to his cherished craft, creating an array of stunning
handmade works.
