"ABAD" beneficiary: Ehtiram İbrahimov | Region: Shabran | Painting
As a social initiative, ABAD places great emphasis on identifying young artisans across Azerbaijan and engaging them in the development of the nation’s cultural heritage. One such talented young artisan is Ehtiram Ibrahimov, a resident of Baku. From an early age, Ehtiram has been passionate about painting, constantly striving to refine his skills and create innovative contributions to the field of craftsmanship.
Among the various forms of decorative-applied arts, Ehtiram has chosen pyrography—drawing on wood using a burning technique—as his primary craft, transforming it into his main profession. He works with dried tree branches and roots, cutting them into slices of varying sizes and polishing them with special materials. Using a specialized tool, he then draws intricate designs on the wood and burns the outlines to create striking visual effects.
Depending on commissions, Ehtiram creates works across a wide range of themes, with a particular fondness for subjects related to the universe and planets. Looking ahead, he plans to focus on depicting Azerbaijan’s historical architectural monuments and cultural elements on wooden pieces, crafting unique souvenirs that celebrate the nation’s heritage.
His overarching goal is not only to establish his own business but also to contribute to the global recognition of Azerbaijani culture. Through his partnership with ABAD, Ehtiram receives comprehensive support in various aspects of his craft. He notes that the primary challenge in his field—organizing sales—has been effectively addressed through ABAD’s initiatives.
Ehtiram Ibrahimov’s exquisite handcrafted works are currently displayed and available for purchase at ABAD craftsmanship centers.
