ABAD does not only support individual artistan families, but also workshops that unite several artisans around itself.

Mahira Khalilova has studied ceramics and she is deeply aware of the secrets of this art.

She is also the head of Nargis Porcelain company. "In 1984, I and my husband both studied in Russia in the specialty of ceramics. As our country gained independence, we returned to Baku.

I have been wishing to work in my own field for long years. Recently, we have created Nargis porcelain, which we have given the name of our daughter and produces ceramic products," says Mahira Khalilova.

According to her, the company has artists, sculptors, and patternmakers:

"My husband and I solve the technological issues together. All products are made from scratch and all the processes are implemented internally. First of all, drawings are made, models of handicrafts are created. Then the raw material is poured into a mold, painted and placed in the oven to cook."

‘Nargis porcelain’ mainly produces various souvenirs in national style. She prefers to use carpet and Kelaghayi patterns on her products. (Keleghayi is a traditional Azeri silk headscarf that was included in the list of intangible cultural heritage UNESCO)

Speaking about the art of ceramics, she says, she loves this area even though it involves dirt and it is your basic material of unfired clay and mud.
