President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva, and their daughter Leyla Aliyeva attended the opening ceremony of the Guba ABAD Factory on December 6.

Director of ABAD public legal entity Rufat Elchiyev delivered broad information on the work done at the enterprise.

It was noted that the entrepreneur residents of the Guba district have already been familiar with Guba ABAD Factory for several years and the factory now will also serve them in getting packaging materials.

Locals recall the previous location of the plant abandoned place in need of major restoration work. Thus, the building has been completely renovated while architectural elements of historical value were kept. The production of various packaging materials including cardboard, paper, and labels, various promotional products, as well as the pressing of waste paper are envisaged.

This project was implemented based on a grant allocated by PASHA Holding. Following its inauguration, the enterprise will employ 20 people at the initial stage, and 50 people at the next stage.

It was also stated that this enterprise fully meets the needs of ABAD producers’ family farms with packaging and is ready to serve other small and micro-enterprise entities.

It should be noted that ABAD was established following the Presidential decree in 2016. The statistics show that the ABAD philosophy is well-established and pays off. At the end of the 10th month of the current year, ABAD supports 500 families. As a result, thousands of ABAD members sell handicrafts, agricultural and other products. A total of 5.5 million manat worth of products were sold through ABAD since it started to function.
